Village Collection

I think I want to start collecting a Halloween Village and I need suggestions...?

What are the companies that make Halloween Collectible Villages? I have seen Spooky Town, Halloween Snow Village by Department 56, and hawthorne collectibles, are there more?

Are these different villages approximately on the same scale so you can take some pieces from each collection?

Are there any good websites for display ideas?

Lemax Spooky Town, Department 56 and Hawthorne are the big ones. Walmart carries a Christmas village, Target does as well, but not sure which manufacturer (probably Lemax).

The villages are close to the same scale, but probably not exactly. Personally, I avoid Lemax simply because of all the noise (and yes, I know you can turn the audio off). I know among the Christmas villages by D56 that Snow Village is on a larger scale than the other villages.

I have used pieces from Lemax in my Hawthorne NBC set, specifically the cobblestone pathways, trees, some streetlamps, etc. with no problems of scale.

As to websites, I'd suggest searching for message boards or chatrooms, or looking at pictures of other people's displays. Most of what I could easily find were hawking dvds and video DIY tapes.
