Stand Shelves
Posted in Longberger | Comments OffWhat is the best way to hang these shelves?
I have two shelves that are about three feet high and then one foot deep and across. They are made to stand on the ground but i was planning on hanging them horizontally about five feet off the ground. What is a sturdy and secure way to hang them but is fairly unnoticeable?
Katiebaybee, You could secure 'corbels'(wooden brackets) to one of the studs that is in the wall, then use wall anchors rated to carry the shelf weight for the other corbel. Home Depot or Lowes even carries metal(white) shelf brackets if you don`t like the 'corbel' idea. It kinda depends on how much weight your going to set on your shelves. More weight-bigger brackets. I`ve even took a 2"x4" and cut a groove in it so the shelf would be inserted in the groove. But again- depends on how much weight your going to put on the shelf. Brackets are your best way to carry shelves on a wall with the right anchors for the job. You can even try a 1"x 4" wooden cleat board below the top shelf that is secured to the wall. Hoped this helped. Good Luck.
