Hammerklavier Controversies - G natural or G sharp, A natural or A sharp?

These specific notes are still controversial after being argued by experts all these years.

Richter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFjh_DFdVGs 6:52 - G natural, 7:09 - A sharp
Brendel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0hAd2rSV20&feature=fvw 7:14 - G sharp, 7:31 - A natural

There are differences in editions too! What note do you/did you play? Explain - what's your argument?
This is Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata Op. 106 in B-flat Major "Hammerklavier" just to clarify.

I don't only sympathise with Petr's powerful point, but I'd like to compare notes with him on precisely what finish is ideal for that fluted marble column.

For me, in performance or silent study, no single note deserves quite so much attention never mind controversy. My admittedly earthy, Germanic great aunt (91), would refer to that as ant-f*&%ing, and I have, as yet, to see her proved wrong in that specific regard, as to approach.

All the best,
