Potluck Liner

I hosted a potluck and one of my guests brought a "kitty litter cake" that was in a kitty litter box with liner and had a kitty scoop to serve it. It looked just like kitty litter with a bunch of "droppings" in it. It made me sick to look at it and to have it next to all the other good food would just ruin the other guests appetites. Plus, I was afraid that our cat would think it was for her and would jump on the table and actually use it during the potluck meal.
Yes, I can't even look at those kitty litter cats let alone eat it! I've made them for Halloween though and they do get a good holiday reaction.
But bringing them as a dish to serve when it's not Halloween is just plain wrong!
I would tell the person who brought it that you found it very funny - and you cannot look at the cake and ask them to take it with them so they can re-use the pan and scooper for their next party because you know how expensive those things are.
BTW - it's made with either a spice or german chocolate cake, pudding cups, crumbled cookies, food coloring and those droppings are melted Tootsie Rolls.
