Bread Plate
Posted on Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 at 5:44 pmkitchenaid stand mixer K45ss slips out of lock plate while mixing bread dough. HOw can I fix it?
Every time I try to make bread, the bowl slips out of the locked position. I have to stop and try to lock it back up. Usually have to stop the mixer entirely and pull dough out and knead by hand. What can be done? Do I need a new lock plate, bowl or both?
I am talking the bowl not the attachments or the lock lever to keep the hard from tilting .
I have to assume you mean the main portion of the mixer pops up rather than stays down in the mixing bowl, if that's the case, then yes, you need the locking clip repaired. There is a spring in it that keeps it down and locked. You will need to find a repair service that does Kitchaid or Hobart equipment. Shouldn't be a big long drawn out affair. It's a simple repair.
