Basket Treasure

in august i met a nice russian boy who was my friends co worker..he was here for the summer..i met him at a party, and ever since then weve been together..my friends and family like him... but he left to go back to school in late september...we call each other about three times a week...i treasure him because he is the first boy ive loved because a childhood trauma hampered my ability to trust men...my best friend is now telling me i shouldnt put all my eggs into one basket...i know shes right...but i cant let him go cause hell be back (hopefully) next summer...any advice?
btw im 21 hes 20 we both are in college 
It all depends really on how you and he feel. I am myself Russian and met my American husband through on-line. While most women try to "not put all eggs in one basket" and correspond to a few men at once, to be able to choose, after about 2 months I was sure he was the one and the rest 7 months (we corresponded /chatted /talked over the phone for 9 months before he came over to my country and we got married) I didn't even think of other men.
If he is just someone you like, it is difficult to keep such a relationship over a long distance. But if you feel he is THE SPECIAL ONE (as long as he, of course, feels the same about you), I would wait in your place.
