Button Basket
Posted in Longberger | Comments OffI began a photo site to show some of my local pictures.?
The site is located at http://fstop2image.com.
What can I do to improve this site? I have increased the size of the thumbnails. I know about the perhaps slow loading as image size increases. Is this an issue for anyone out there?
Please click on the link below each photo as I'm also seeking some advise about my photo techniques. Is it a good idea to include links to other popular photo web sites as I have done? I want to include a low priced shopping basket that would allow my guests to purchase images as well. I used Pay Pal in the past but find the HTML code used to display a BUY ME button to be quite long. Is there another low cost alternative?
I like your logo.
The dark blue text doesn't go with your logo, and is hard to read on the black background. You need to use a lighter color text. I would suggest a lightened version of the logo color so they are coordinated.
You need to link the larger photos to the thumbnails themselves, so clicking on the center of the thumbnail photo opens the larger photo. Making people click on the title of the photo is poor navigation design. Clicking on either the title or the thumbnail should open the larger photo.
If you are worried about slow loading times reduce the number of colors in the photos. You can do this with Photoshop, but it is easiest with Adobe ImageReady. This will speed up loading and also make it less likely people will steal your photos because the reduced number of colors makes printouts look bad while still looking good on the screen.
Your Guest Book page doesn't have the same design as your site, which looks bad. Can you change the script? If not you may want to see if you can get someone to volunteer to change it for you so the designs match.
