Business Card
Posted in Longberger | Comments OffWhat basic scientific principles can be demonstrated with a business card?
What can you demonstrate about science using only a business card? Persistence of vision? Diffraction? Something even more interesting?
The card can have special printing, or a specific shape to - or cuts in - the paper. Optical illusions are ok, too.
You might be able to utilize one or more business card "enhancement features" to demonstrate a science theme.
For example, spot UV, which is where specific areas of a non-glossy business card are treated with a glossy coating. This does not impact the underlying color, it simply makes those areas slightly raised and shiny relative to the non-shiny cardstock. The effect catches light, so moving a spot UV card under a light will show reflective properties. So perhaps there is something around light reflection, refraction, or diffusion that could be demonstrated?
Check out http://www.nexcards.com for more info on spot UV and other possible enhancement features that might meet your needs. Good luck!
